Toshiba Medical Visualization Systems, a group company of Toshiba Corporation, has expanded its Voxar 3D product line with two advanced PACS visualization solutions: Voxar 3D 6.3.2 Workstation and Voxar 3D 6.3.2 ActiveX.

Designed for ease of implementation, 3D Workstation and 3D ActiveX integrate with standard PACS platforms to deliver advanced visualization within a single application.

Engineered for full, enterprise-wide integration with PACS worklists, Voxar 3D workstation allows advanced visualization with a single mouse click. Data is shared in memory with PACS, making series loading five times faster than traditional DICOM transfer. Once loaded, data is available to 3D workstation instantly without requiring a network transfer. Additionally, Toshiba boasts increased efficiency by storing PACS captures as Live Images, allowing advanced visualization to be saved and resumed through the workflow.

Voxar 3D ActiveX embeds directly within the PACS user interface, providing a familiar experience to end users and requiring less training. Because 3D views are controlled within the PACS user interface, users need not jump between multiple applications to access advanced visualizations. Features are consistent with the system whole, maintaining PACS' distinctive look and feel.

The first advanced visualization system to be integrated with PACS, Voxar 3D operates on COTS hardware and standard operating systems. With the release of Voxar 3D Workstation and ActiveX, it now functions with Windows Vista and leverages existing IT infrastructure and existing supplier arrangements.
